· Add a tbsp of oil and little salt while pressure cooking white rice for fried rice or any variety rice. This makes the rice non sticky and tasty.
· Curry leaves is packed with numerous nutrients that are actually good for you. Right from helping your heart to function in a better way to enlivening your hair and skin with vitality, it is loaded with health benefits. So adding curry leaves for seasoning makes to lose all good things just because we are frying in oil.
ü So add curry leaves directly without frying whenever possible like cooking Dal, vegetables…
ü For rasam, grind Curry leaves and few coriander leaves and add to make rasam healthy and tasty.
· Always soak full grams (green gram, horse gram, cow peas, chick peas) and cook. This will reduce cooking time and fuel consumption.
· If you are staying in cold region and fermenting Idly/Dosa batter taking more time, then just keep the batter near your refrigerator or keep under direct sunlight for 4 hrs.
· Your curd turns sore in the afternoon when you pack for lunch box? Don’t worry… just crush a piece of ginger and add while packing to avoid sour curd.
· Use muslin cloth for making idly instead of using oil. Because cooking idly without using oil is the right way. Old age people and people who fall in sick prefer oil less or less oil food only.
· Wash your oil bottle, salt jar, Dal dappa,… whenever it gets over and before opening new pack. This reduces the risk of washing all things at a time.
