Aval kesari is easy neivedhyam you can prepare for Friday Pooja or Pournami Pooja. Very few ingredients required. It tastes fantastic when it is hot. Try this kesari for this Friday Pooja.

Let’s see how to prepare this tasty kesari for neivedhyam.

Ingredients:
Aval/Poha/Flattened rice – 1 cup
Sugar – 1 cup
Water – 2 cups
Ghee – 3 tbsp
Food color - a pinch
Salt – 1 pinc
Cardamom – 3
Cashews
Raisins
Almonds
Method:
In a heavy bottomed pan, add 2 tbsp. of ghee and fry all the nuts till the color changes to golden. Take it and keep aside.
In the remaining ghee, add Aval/Poha and fry. It has to be fried nice. Make sure the color has not been changed. Switch off the stove and keep the Aval to cool down.
Take the Aval in a mixer jar and grind to a coarse powder like Rava.
Boil water in the pan and add Aval/Poha, salt and mix well. Cover it and cook till the Aval becomes soft. Simmer the flame and cook.
Once the Aval cooked well, add 1 cup salt, a pinch of yellow color powder, cardamom powder to the cooked Aval/Poha and mix well. First it will look watery because of the melted sugar. Keep stirring.
You can adjust the flame to medium now. Stir well adding ghee till it leaves the sides.

Note:
Aval/Poha has to be cooked well. If not, then the kesari won’t be good.
Adjust sugar as per your taste bud.
